toxic shock syndrome

toxic shock syndrome

toxic shock syndrome

Every time I hand one of these to someone, I get one of two answers: if they’re over 30, they say “Hey!  That looks like the OB tampon logo!  Are you sure you wanna make that association?”  To which I respond “Well, considering I call the sticker Toxic Shock Syndrome, I guess I’m pretty much counting on it.

This usually engenders a confused look–”But why would you want to remind people of that?”  And usually, I just smile, but sometimes, if they’re smart, I’ll remind them that 1. There’s no such thing as bad publicity and 2. This is a promo sticker, and whatever I can do to get people to stare a little longer at the logo and possibly get it to stick in their brains (and maybe even make them come to the site), then Mission Accomplished.

Of course, there’s also those under 30, who have no idea what we’re talking about.  That’s fine.  It’s not for them anyway.

If you want one of these, drop me a line at keith-at-obreal-dot-com; they’re marketing materials, so I’ll send you a couple for free, just for writing.

roundel (reflective!)

roundel

roundel

This is the RAF roundel, appropriated by the Mods (and The Who) in the mid-60’s, and now is one of the totems of the Vespa-riding ethusiasts.  This rendition is done in transparent inks on a reflective substrate, so that it is reflective across the entire surface.  The material is thick enough to hold up to some curvature in application, and the inks are highly durable.

These sell for $1.50 apiece.

keyed

keyed

keyed

This is my contribution to the effort to increase personal responsibility. How many times have you seen someone parked like a total asshole, so bad that they deserved to be keyed? Now, you can.

The semiotics on this one are perfect: the target asshole gets to go through all of the initial horror of thinking someone has permanently tagged their precious vehicle. But the sticker is made of clear static-cling vinyl–the asshole will be able to immediately tear it off, read the words, and voila! Message sent.

Available in packs of 3 for $5.00

I screw my dog

I screw my dog

Well, no I don’t, but that is the point of this little bundle of fun. Find your nearest neighbor with the annoying “I [heart] my [corgi/horse/mom/whatever]” bumper sticker and do a little Art Damage.

This sticker is available in black on white, packs of 5 for $10.00, $2.00 shipping & handling

sedona

sedone

sedona

Another one of the early art prints, the original image was posted on missionblvd.com, and was taken in 2005.  I tried several versions of posterizing the image before I landed on this one, and it turned out be quite a bitch to screenprint.  Still, I’m quite happy with the result.

Limited edition of 30, $150 per print.

vasarely sphere 01

This is a theme I am sure I will come back to over the years.  The design is inspired by Victor Vasarely, who did highly similar screenprint work in the mid-1900’s.  Very cool.

This print is available in a limited edition of 30, $150.00, $20.00 shipping & handling
